“Great day hiking through the snow to the 10K summit of Mt. Baldy (aka Mt. San Antonio) with my colleague and mountaineering mentor, Carey Ramirez, NP. We work together at City of Hope , and we share a passion for helping support patients ‘cancer journeys.
The challenges we face climbing tall mountains, which includes fatigue, breathlessness, and even pain are small reminders of the much deeper challenges our patients face every day. We are also reminded of comfort brought by the conversations and encouragement we bring each other, and that patients’ desperately need.”
