Wencesley A. Paez, Director of Clinical Research Operations at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Adjunct Assistant Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“My colleague and friend Olivia Burke, MD, MS and I started with this idea and project about a year ago, that translated into a poster presentation at the 2026 National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Annual meeting and in parallel worked on the full manuscript and submitted in AACR Journals Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers, and Prevention.
Our manuscript entitled, ‘Disparities in Rural-Urban Cancer Care Outcomes Among Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Populations: A Comprehensive Narrative Review’ was officially accepted and published.
The highlight was proposing a Conceptual Framework looking at both upstream and downstream, multi-level contributors to rural-urban disparities among this patient population’s cancer risk, care, and outcomes across the cancer care continuum.”
