Wei Zhang, Director of the Center for Cancer Genomics and Precision Oncology, Hanes and Willis Family Professor in Cancer at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A great afternoon of talking about cancer research.
We welcomed Drs. Wa Xian and Frank McKeon and their pancreatic cancer stem cell group to present at our weekly bioinformatics group meeting. Our ongoing collaboration has already generated interesting results.
We also went over our projects on radiation induced sarcoma genomics and the role of microbiome in cancer pain.
Our bioinformaticians, Karl and Pengbo, did a superb job in their analysis and presentation of the results. It’s so good to have participations of our T32 fellow and graduate students. Courtney Moore gave a great presentation.
Finally, we discussed our plan to implement technology that will simultaneously measure gene expression and protein expression at single cell level. Nury and Enzo will lead this effort to make it happen with the strong support of our Associate Director for Shared Resources, Dr. Jai Patel.
At our meeting, some of us wore purple to recognize pancreatic cancer awareness month.”
