Wee Joo Chng, Yong Loo Lin Professor in Medical Oncology and Vice-President of Biomedical Sciences Research at the National University of Singapore, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“New year new responsibilities.
After 5 years, I am stepping down as the Group Director of Research, NUHS. This office covers the full range of research programs, grant funding, Clinician Scientist development and research innovations and development. In the new set-up, Roger Foo, will take over as the Group Director of Research, in charge of research programs, core facilities, research compliance and clinician scientist development in NUHS, while David Tan will take over the innovation office as the Group Director for Partnership and Innovation, reflecting the growth and significant emphasis in the cluster on translating our research innovations in NUHS going forward.
I will become the Group Chief Scientist of NUHS. In this capacity, I will be working closely with NUHS Dy CE (research and education), Prof Chong Yap Seng, Roger and David to develop the research strategy and director for NUHS for the next decade, with a strong emphasis on partnership and cross disciplinary research, in solving key healthcare challenges.
Hope to do more together in the coming years!”
