Wee Joo Chng’s Inspiring Message to NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine PhD Graduates 2025
Wee Joo Chng, Vice President of Biomedical Science Research at the National University of Singapore, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Was invited to be the guest of honor and deliver an address to celebrate NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine graduating PhD class of 2025.
As with all events organised by Kevin SW TAN and his team, it was a night full of fun and laughter and a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues.
In my address, I encouraged the graduating class to ponder on 4 things:
1) What is their purpose? Why do they want to do what they do?
2) How are they creating value, for society, for organisation, and for colleagues. Be proactive and make positive impact on others
3) have a growth mindset, be curious, challenge paradigms, always learning, always improving.
4) Reflect often, minimize regrets
In summary,
Purpose to guide you
Value to drive you
Growth to sustain you
Reflection to ground you
I certainly hope these words will guide them on their future journey.”
