Walid Kamoun: The Weeks that Remind Me Why I Love What We Do

Walid Kamoun, Vice President, Global Head of R&D Oncology at Servier, shared a post on LinkedIn:

What an amazing week in Boston.

These are the weeks that remind me why I love what we do.

Spending time connecting with my team talking science, clinical development, and just as importantly, career development was incredibly energizing. There’s something special about thinking together about how we nurture our amazing talented team.

A few personal highlights:

  •  Great conversations with our research team (and a always a great happy hour special thanks to Dale Porter for making sure my favorite beer is cold).
  •  Inspiring discussions with innovative startups tackling one of the toughest challenges we face: brain tumors. At Servier, we are committed to developing transformative therapies for these patients.
  •  An impromptu reunion with former colleagues. Seeing everyone’s career journey and evolution was a powerful reminder that while hard work matters, luck also plays an incredible role. The key, I believe, is to enjoy the journey.
  •  A wonderful surprise from my team with an amazing chocolate cake for my birthday. Very grateful for such thoughtful people.
  •  And yes… that impressive fog rolling into the Seaport area.
Boston knows how to set the scene.

Boston is a city that truly celebrates science even the airport reminds you of it, with walls filled with images of scientists who shaped (and continue to shape) the future.

It’s always special to be in Boston, a city where breakthroughs in oncology and clinical development are discussed with genuine enthusiasm and shared purpose.

Feeling grateful, inspired, and ready for what’s next.”
