Walid Kamoun, Vice President of Global Head of R&D Oncology at Servier, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Melanie Clements et al. published in Nature:
“Another very interesting paper on GBM, highlighting the interaction between the tumor and the brain.
A recent study by Clements et al. (Nature, Oct 2025) reveals that axonal injury isn’t just a consequence of glioblastoma—it’s a driver of its progression.
The research shows that damage to white matter creates a microenvironment that accelerates tumor growth and invasion.
This discovery opens the door to targeting neuronal injury pathways as a novel therapeutic strategy for GBM.
