Wafik S. El-Deiry, Director of Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University and Chair of the WIN Consortium in Cancer Personalized Medicine, shared on X:
“Great to have WIN Consortium in cancer personalized medicine Precision Oncology Fellow Dr. Karan Sood join me at Brown University and Brown University Health today for his precision oncology and translational research in person experience.
We discussed issues in career development, challenges in academic medicine, entrepreneurship, clinical management of metastatic KRAS G12C colon cancer, and a bench experience looking at effects of certain adaptive and innate immune modulatory drugs on killing of tumor cells by various immune cell types.
It takes a special fellow with a certain motivation and experience to get certain experiments going that I’ve been interested in for the last decade.
Dr. Sood who attended and presented several posters at the 2026 WIN Symposium is co-mentored by Razelle Kurzrock.
In my lab he is collaborating with Lanlan Zhou, Tyler Roady, Arunasalam Navaraj, Dinara Ryspayeva and Maryam Ghandali and has hit the ground running as we met today to discuss his main project.”
