“On days like today I think about the future and strategize.
Following progress over decades I am excited to continue shaping the future of precision oncology clinical practice with research innovations, technology breakthroughs, education and training to help patients in Rhode Island and globally.
It is a powerful motivator to see discoveries in my lab over 3 decades culminate in FDA approval of ONC201/dordaviprone less than a year ago in 2025 to treat these aggressive H3K27M-mutated diffuse gliomas.
This unique and amazing precision oncology story is only the beginning of what has to happen for patients building on lessons learned. There are many novel drugs and drug combinations waiting to be translated for brain and other tumor types.
Technologies and AI are still fairly primitive but important progress is being made.
Looking forward to the 2026 WIN Symposium on October 2-3, 2026 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence. It should be a great event with the world-class faculty in attendance.
