“PAPERI–SSI Scientific Writing Workshop | Second Cohort (March 2026)
Today, we proudly conclude the second cohort of the PAPERI–SSI Scientific Writing Workshop—another inspiring milestone in our shared mission to strengthen research capacity across Africa.
First and foremost, my deepest gratitude to the Sustainable Sciences Institute (SSI) for generously supporting this initiative for the second time. Your continued commitment to capacity building reflects a true belief in the potential of African scientists to lead, innovate, and transform research on the continent.
Special thanks to our exceptional instructors:
Dr. Maria Elena Bottazzi
Dr. Jose Juarez (Dr. Willy)
Your dedication, mentorship, and belief in nurturing African talent have made a lasting impact.
To our outstanding participants — this cohort has been remarkable.
Researchers joined us from across Africa:

You demonstrated:
Strong commitment and discipline
Intellectual curiosity through insightful questions
Dedication to developing high-quality scientific work
You did not just attend—you engaged, challenged, and grew.
At PAPERI, we strongly believe that
Africa is not just a participant in global science — Africa can lead.
This workshop is not the end, but the beginning of your publication journey and your role as future mentors and leaders in your respective countries.
As we close this cohort, we celebrate not just a group photo—but a network of empowered African researchers ready to contribute meaningful science to the world.
