Vivek Ghosh: A Journey Built on Dreams, Resilience, and Unwavering Support

Vivek Ghosh, Clinical Oncologist at Birat Cancer Institute, Nepal, Member of Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“From a small town in Eastern Nepal to AIIMS, New Delhi, to fellowship in Canada, and presenting at ASCO—it has been a journey built on dreams, resilience, and the unwavering support of countless people.

Returning home yesterday after completing my fellowship, I was deeply humbled to receive the SFON Dr. Madan Ela Piya Cancer Award. As a young oncologist, this recognition means far more than a personal milestone—it is a reminder of the responsibility to continue advancing cancer research, improving cancer care, and serving the people of Nepal.

None of this would have been possible without the guidance of my mentors and teachers, the trust of my patients, the support of my family, friends, and colleagues, and every opportunity I have been fortunate enough to receive. I owe each of you my sincere gratitude.

This is an encouragement to dream bigger, work harder, and contribute meaningfully to Nepali oncology. I hope to carry forward the knowledge gained across institutions and borders to help build a future where every patient with cancer in Nepal has access to world-class, compassionate care.

The journey continues, and the best is yet to come.”
