Vignesh Packiam: Two Interesting Findings From EUO Article on Non–Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer

Vignesh Packiam, Associate Professor at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, shared a post by European Urology Oncology on X, adding:

“I like this paper. Two interesting findings:

  • LVI is rare but important.. corroborates we found Ryan Werntz.

LVI is one of the worst risk factors… T1 with LVI is worse than T2 without it… Need to be more flexible in considering NAC for these patients

  • Outcomes did not differ by stage (Ta vs CIS vs T1). To me this corroborates paradigm shift illustrated by JCOG1019… my interpretation is that thorough/excellent TURBT can trump specific NMIBC stage”
