Vicki Durston: Excited to be Contributing to the 2026 MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting

Vicki Durston, Director of Policy and Advocacy at Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), shared a post on LinkedIn:

“We’re excited to be contributing to the 2026 MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting in Melbourne this week, one of the world’s leading conferences dedicated to supportive cancer care.

For BCNA, this year’s meeting reflects the growing recognition of the value that lived experience brings to cancer care, research, education and policy. We are particularly proud that consumer representatives contributed to the conference organising committee, helping to inform and co-design elements of the program alongside clinicians, researchers and supportive care experts.

We would like to acknowledge and thank MASCC CEO Melissa Chin, Conference Chair Professor Joanne Bowen and the MASCC leadership team for their commitment to meaningful consumer partnership and for creating opportunities for lived experience to be embedded throughout the conference.

The week has already commenced with the Sexual Wellbeing Workshop, proudly sponsored by BCNA, bringing together 7 consumer advocates from breast, ovarian, prostate and lymphoma cancer organisations to ensure lived experience helps shape future supportive care practice.

Across the conference, BCNA consumer advocates and staff will contribute 6 presentations exploring research co-design, body image, stigma and shame after breast cancer, meaningful consumer engagement, collaborative change, metastatic breast cancer data prevalence and cancer survivorship.
