“Returning from the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) World Cancer Congress in Hong Kong feeling inspired and energised.
It was a privilege to join more than 2,000 delegates from 120 countries, alongside Cancer Council colleagues from across Australia, to discuss the future of cancer control.
The sessions that resonated most with me focused on cancer survivorship, global tobacco control, and the importance of measuring impact, along with securing sustainable funding to support our work.
But as is often the case, the greatest value came from the conversations between sessions. The relationships formed, ideas exchanged and opportunities for future collaboration were invaluable.
I was proud to represent Cancer Council ACT and to demonstrate that, while we are a small jurisdiction, we continue to deliver impact beyond our size through our deep commitment to improving outcomes for people affected by cancer.
