Valerie Yang: Key Clinical Practice-Changing Updates Across Cancer Types From ESMO 2026

Valerie Yang, Senior Medical Oncologist at OncoCare Cancer Centre, shared on LinkedIn:

“Now that I’m home from ESMO 2026, here is my take on the relevant clinical practice-changing updates across all cancer types.

  1. A poster summary of positive updates to incorporate into your clinic today
  2. A more comprehensive summary of pan tumor trials – split into tumor type, positive and practice changing, promising not yet practice changing, and important negatives. I identified and distilled it down to 40 trials. Of course my favourite tumor types (melanoma and sarcomas among them) are flagged, although not yet practice-changing
  3. An overall summary of positive and pertinent negatives for What This Means In Practice right now

A summary document in point form across all 40 trials is also available, if anyone would like. I would love to hear your thoughts and if you agree with my clinical roundup of ESMO 2026!

For a brief translational research round up of ESMO 2026, see my earlier post.”
