Vaibhav Sharma, Resident in Radiation Oncology at Georgetown University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in Cureus:
“We just published a case report describing an uncommon pattern of cervical cancer recurrence presenting as gastric metastasis! Reported cases are very limited. In our paper, we summarize the cases we could find in the literature and review how patients have presented, how the diagnosis was confirmed, and what treatments have been used.
From a radiation oncology perspective, this case also includes both definitive pelvic chemoradiation with brachytherapy as part of initial management and later palliative external beam radiation to the gastric lesion for symptom control!”
