Ulrika Årehed Kågström Discusses a New Decade Long Strategy for Cancer Control – UICC

Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared on LinkedIn:

“Ulrika Årehed Kågström, President of UICC, presents the new ten – year strategy for 2026–2036, highlighting the strength of UICC’s global community and the importance of bringing together patient organisations, cancer societies, research centres, professional associations, civil society and partners to drive progress in cancer control.

The new strategy sets a clear pathway to reduce the number of cancer cases and related deaths worldwide. It aims to address inequities in access to cancer services and to lessen the burden cancer places on individuals, families and communities.

It sets out to advance the targets in the World Cancer Declaration, published in 2025, which reflects the priorities of UICC’s global membership. The strategy focuses on areas where UICC and its members and partners can achieve the greatest impact.
