“UICC is grateful to EPICC and the Fiji Cancer Society for hosting a Palliative Care Workshop in Fiji, which generated real momentum for advancing palliative care across the Pacific.
The workshop welcomed Ministry representatives, clinicians and civil society and supported discussions from policy and planning for palliative care, to addressing barriers in access to opioids, and clinical training amongst other topics.
UICC was delighted to meet with members from Vanuatu, Fiji, Timor Leste and Papua New Guinea, and to highlight the critical role of civil society organisations in informing policy, designing services, and supporting implementation.”
