Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Governing Council of International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization (IARC) — the organisation’s principal policy-making and oversight body — met in Lyon, 27-28 May.
As a longstanding partner of IARC, UICC has held an observer seat on the Council since IARC was created as the specialised cancer agency of the World Health Organization.
Dr Elisabete Weiderpass, Director of IARC, said:
‘IARC and UICC are often described as ‘sister organisations’ because our mandates are distinct but deeply complementary, and our partnership is built on a shared commitment to prevention-focused, evidence-based cancer control.’
Representing UICC Philippe Guinot, COO, was pleased to participate in the meeting and engage with colleagues working towards this shared mission.”
