To Dream, to Live, and to Be Grateful Every Day: Remembering Eduardo Uchôa – UICC

Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“With huge sadness, we announce that Eduardo Uchôa has passed away at the age of 36.

Eduardo was always keen to support UICC and the World Cancer Day campaign, contributing to the latest campaign video, photo exhibition in Geneva, and the 12 People 12 Cameras 12 Months project.

The videos, images and stories he sent – fishing on a sunny day, attending music concerts, helping people through his work as a personal trainer – were all about enjoying life, spending time with family and friends, and seeing his experience with cancer as one that gave him a new purpose and an appreciation for the things that matter most.

Eduardo went through over 50 rounds of chemotherapy, numerous set-backs and days spent in hospital, and yet always had a bright smile and a desire to share his story of strength.

As he put it in a message to us: “to dream, to live, and to be grateful every day!”

Our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”
