“The World Cancer Leaders Summit 2025 (WCLS 2025) emphasised the need for people-centred care, underscoring the value of bringing together diverse perspectives to ensure that lived experience influences healthcare, systems and policies.
A dedicated session highlighted that recognising the expertise of people with lived experience is essential for delivering people-centred care in both practice and policy.
However, there remains a significant gap in training and support that enable people with lived experience to participate effectively. Greater investment is needed to equip patient groups and lived experience representatives to advocate for more people-centred approaches to care.”
