Uddiptya Goswami: Can Community – Based Solutions Help Close Global Cancer Care Gaps?

Uddiptya Goswami, Associate Consultant Medical Oncology and Hemato Oncology at SP Medifort Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:

“Representing AMPOK at the UICC World Cancer Congress was a privilege. I was honoured to be selected for an oral podium presentation (main stage) for my study on autorickshaw drivers who support cancer patients on their last – mile journey to care.

My first thanks go to Dr Boben Thomas, Secretary of AMPOK, who led our 11 – member delegation with distinction. His vision and unwavering passion continue to inspire me, and his support for every idea of mine has been invaluable.

I am grateful to Dr Aju Mathew, whose continued mentorship has been a true blessing, guiding me with wisdom and generosity

I am also grateful to all my seniors who were part of the delegation Narayanankutty Warrier Dr Arun Chandrasekharan Dr Sanju Cyriac (London) Varun Rajan, Edin Nikhil Krishna Haridas, Dr. Arun R. Warrier, Mathews Jose, Dr Mithun Chako John.

We met and discussed with leaders who shape global cancer care.

The biggest lesson was that the problems with access, affordability and professional training, that we face in India, are shared worldwide, and so are the solutions. Our work can actually shape global conversations.

Next, we build on these partnerships working with various organisations and societies for the upcoming Kerala Cancer Conclave 2.0 in December 2027.”
