“We are thrilled to announce that Professor Udai Banerji, Co-Director of The Drug Development Unit (DDU) at the ICR and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust has been appointed as one of 43 new NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) Senior Investigators this year.
Professor Banerji is internationally recognized for his contribution to early‑phase oncology research and the development of novel anticancer therapies. The appointment reflects his outstanding leadership, scientific expertise and commitment to advancing patient‑centred cancer treatment.
He said:
It is an honor to be a NIHR Senior Investigator. The NIHR has kept research at the forefront of the NHS and through its awards has equipped a vast array of researchers with necessary skills to perform patient centric, scientifically robust research. I look forward to working with my colleagues to accelerate anticancer drug development and working towards smarter, kinder anticancer treatments.
