Tracey O’Brien, Chief Cancer Officer and CEO of Cancer Institute NSW, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“As someone living with a rare cancer diagnosis, Tony’s story is one of strength, resilience and hope.
Across Australia, around 42,000 people are diagnosed with a rare or less common cancer each year. These cancers are often less understood and can have limited treatment options, leaving many people to face a level of uncertainty and complexity that extends far beyond their diagnosis.
This Rare Cancer Awareness Day, we celebrate the courage of people like Tony and the dedication of our state’s researchers, clinicians and community members working to better understand and support people like him.
I encourage you to read Tony’s story.”
