Toufic Kachaamy: What Do You Wish More People Understood About Scheduling In Your Practice?

Toufic Kachaamy, Leader of Endoscopic Oncology at Mayo Clinic Florida, shared on LinkedIn:

“We talk a lot about innovation in endoscopy. We don’t talk enough about the people who make sure patients actually get their procedures.

Our schedulers.

In endoscopic oncology, scheduling is part of care coordination. A procedure may need to fit around systemic therapy, recovery, other appointments, and the patient’s ability to arrange transportation or take time away from work. Finding the right opening takes more than looking at a calendar.

Behind that appointment is often a scheduler making calls, connecting teams, and helping a patient navigate an already overwhelming cancer journey. That work deserves to be easier and the right tools are needed.

It’s why we’re kicking off our CME event in Las Vegas with Careforce AI a startup using AI to help make procedure scheduling easier for patients and practices alike.

Join us as Vivek Kaul, NYSGEF challenges Angelica in a live demonstration of the solution. I’m looking forward to seeing how it handles the scheduling challenges we encounter in practice.

For me, innovation in endoscopic oncology includes making the whole journey work better for patients and supporting the people who keep it moving.

Join us October 23 – 25 at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas for our fifth annual Advances and Innovations in Endoscopic Oncology and Multidisciplinary GI Cancer Care.

What do you wish more people understood about scheduling in your practice?”
