Toufic Kachaamy: What if We Could Treat Cancer Without Taking an Organ?

Toufic Kachaamy, Chief of Medicine and Director of Gastroenterology at City of Hope, shared a post on LinkedIn:

What if we could treat cancer… without taking an organ?

After more than a decade of caring for GI cancer patients and managing their endoscopic needs, I kept seeing the same problem: a gap between what’s possible and what’s actually being done.

We have the tools. We have the innovation. But we’re not always aligned across specialties.

That realization is what led me to start this meeting.

Endoscopic oncology is opening the door to less invasive, organ-preserving care: with faster recovery and better quality of life for our patients.

But progress only happens when the entire team moves together. The response over the past few years has been overwhelming: from attendees, speakers, and industry partners alike. What started as an idea to bridge a gap has grown into a national, multidisciplinary forum.

This year, we’re proud to celebrate 5 years of building this community and pushing the field forward.

If you care about where GI cancer care is heading, come be a part of it.

Where? Waldorf Astoria, Las Vegas
– When? October 23-25, 2026.
