Travelling for cancer treatment adds an additional burden for people with cancer.

That is compounded by travel reimbursements that are much lower than other states: Victoria’s Patient Transport Assistance Scheme offers 21 cents per kilometer and $45 per night.

It is important to lift these rates and better promote the scheme to regional cancer patients.
