Todd Harper, Director of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), CEO of Cancer Council Victoria, and Chair of NCD Alliance Grant Oversight Sub-Committee, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Thank you to everyone who supported Cancer Research Giving Day this year.
With your support we raised more than $671,000 towards cancer research. An incredible effort.
I caught up with Seamus Flagg who shared his cancer story to support the campaign. Seamus was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma at the age of 12 and went through a year of treatment before receiving the news he was in remission.
Now, aged 26, Seamus is the youngest member of Cancer Council Victoria’s Cancer Advisory Network, helping to shape the future of cancer care in Victoria. Seamus recognises the importance of cancer research, and how it helped save his life, and the lives of many Victorians who are living with and beyond cancer.”
