“HCKH-Launch-News: We officially launched the Hamburg Center for Kidney Health (HCKH) together with the leadership of the University of Hamburg and University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, and distinguished international leaders from the European Renal Association, represented by President Roser Torra, International Society of Nephrology represented by President-elect Liz Lightstone, International Society of Glomerular Disease (ISGD), African Association of Nephrology,  (Rasha Darwish), NephCure Kidney International, Greifswald University (Nicole Endlich) and UTMB (Jochen Reiser) alongside patients, clinicians, scientists, and the next generation of kidney researchers.

HCKH is now among the world’s leading academic platforms for kidney health, bringing together more than 250 kidney experts and internationally recognized programs spanning precision medicine, AI, systems biology, biobanking, integrated patient care, education, and translation.

Our ambition: to redefine kidney medicine, from understanding disease mechanisms to delivering precision therapies, and to translate scientific discovery into longer, healthier lives for people living with kidney disease. A heartfelt thank you to our outstanding speakers, colleagues, patients, collaborators, partners in joint programs (Uniklinik RWTH AC, Rafael Kramann, Aarhus Universitet, University Hospital Cologne, University Hospital Münster, University Medical Center Freiburg, etc.), supporters, and the entire HCKH team for making this inaugural symposium such an inspiring milestone.

This is only the beginning.”
