Timothy Rebbeck, Vincent L. Gregory Professor of Cancer Prevention at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Happy to be back in Tashkent, working with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Oncology Center and the Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology to strengthen cancer control.
Our work covers two areas. The first is recognizing childhood cancers sooner and referring children quickly to specialist care. The second is screening for the most common adult cancers: breast, cervical, lung, prostate, colorectal and stomach. Screening only works as a complete pathway, from invitation and testing to follow-up and treatment.
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will provide training, locally adapted clinical pathways, research and data capacity, and quality improvement. All of this supports programs that Uzbekistan leads.
The goal is better health for children and adults across Uzbekistan.”
