The Max Foundation shared on LinkedIn:
”We’re honored to introduce you to our medical partner of over 13 years, Dr. Pritanjali Singh. A Radiation Oncologist with 20 years of experience who’s based in Patna, Bihar, India, Dr. Pritanjali is committed to helping people living with cancer access treatment and support.
- Why do you do this work?
I chose oncology because it allows me to combine science with compassion. Supporting patients and families through one of the most difficult times in their lives is both a privilege and a responsibility.
- What challenges do your patients face?
Many patients face delayed diagnosis, financial limitations, and long journeys to access specialized care. Alongside treatment, they must also cope with emotional stress and uncertainty.
- Is there a patient moment that has stayed with you?
One patient with chronic myeloid leukemia was worried about supporting his family after his diagnosis. Years later, he returned to tell me that his daughter had graduated from college. Moments like these remind me that success is measured not only by medical reports, but by the lives patients are able to rebuild.
- What does your work involve?
I spend my time seeing patients, planning and reviewing radiotherapy treatments, participating in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings, teaching students and residents, conducting research, and managing emergency consultations.
- What do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, painting, traveling, and participating in cancer awareness and community outreach activities.
- What languages do you speak?
English, Hindi, and regional dialects spoken across Bihar.
- What’s your favorite food?
Simple home-cooked meals, especially traditional North Indian and Bihari dishes.
We’re grateful to healthcare professionals like Dr. Pritanjali who continues to improve access to cancer care. You can read more of Dr. Pritanjali’s story here.”
