The Max Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“On International Childhood Cancer Day we honor the courage of children like Chin-chin.
Diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia at five years old, Chin-chin’s childhood was shaped by hospital visits, blood tests, and long days of treatment. What began as a sudden loss of appetite soon led her family down a difficult path filled with both financial challenges and emotional strain.
Initially, the family received subsidized treatment, but when her physician switched her treatment in 2024, her medicines became available through one of our partnerships.
Now 12 years old, Chin-chin loves drawing, singing, and spending time with her family of five. She takes her medication diligently, and dreams of becoming a nurse one day so she can care for others the way she has been cared for.
Her story is a reminder that behind every childhood cancer diagnosis is a child with dreams and a family filled with hope for their future.”
