Adapting Our Support as Health Systems – The Max Foundation
The Max Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“You may have noticed in our 2024 Monitoring & Evaluation Report a gradual decline in humanitarian access program numbers across South Asia—and that’s good news. Why?
As local economies grow and access to medicines increases, including generics, more patients in countries like India and Sri Lanka are receiving treatment directly through their local health systems. This shift means fewer people need to rely on humanitarian programs—and more are benefiting from sustainable, locally driven care.
This evolution reflects our role as a bridge to access, adapting our support as health systems strengthen. By responding to these changing landscapes, we stay focused on advancing equitable access where the need is most urgent.
Declining numbers ≠ declining impact. They signal progress, empowerment, and resilience.
