“We recently welcomed Alex and Pete Tarn from The Yasmin Tarn Foundation to our Sutton laboratories.
Their daughter, Yasmin, was just 22 when she died in August 2025 from an anaplastic astrocytoma – an aggressive type of brain cancer.
During their visit, Yasmin’s parents met with Professor Chris Jones, who leads our Glioma Group, to hear more about our research into brain tumours in children, teenagers, and young adults.
Yasmin faced her illness with extraordinary strength, resilience and humour, always thinking of others. The foundation aims to continue the work Yasmin began and to honour the way she lived her life.
We are privileged to be working together with the foundation to improve the outlook for young patients with brain tumours, as part of Yasmin’s legacy.
