Terri Ann DiJulio, Lung Cancer Activist and Speaker, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“November 1 marks the start of Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
With LUNGevity Foundation, I had the honor of joining patients, care partners, and advocates on the National Mall to begin planting 60,000 white flags – each one representing two lives lost to lung cancer every year… 120,000 people.
Standing among them was both heartbreaking and hopeful. I felt the weight of loss… and the strength of a community determined to change these numbers.
This powerful display is a reminder of why awareness, early detection, and research matter so much – and why our voices must continue to be heard.
So deeply grateful to have been part of this powerful and moving day. It’s something I’ll carry with me for a long time.”
