Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, shared a post on X:

“I commend Kenya on launching its National Cervical Cancer Elimination Action Plan. This 5 year action plan aims to achieve the 90-70-90 global targets for 2030 to save girls and women from this preventable disease.

  • 90% of girls vaccinated
  • 70% of women screened
  • 90% of women with pre-cancerous lesions treated.

World Health Organization stands ready to support countries every step of the journey to eliminate cervical cancer and advance.”
