“Met with First Lady Ziroat Mirziyoyev to discuss Uzbekistan’s partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and World Health Organization (WHO) in fighting childhood cancer.
The creation of a dedicated national centre for paediatric oncology, hematology, and immunology – distinct from adult services – is a bold and strategic move.
I thank the First Lady for her leadership and commitment, including on convening a regional forum for Central Asia on access to childhood cancer medicines.
