It is a powerful demonstration that cervical cancer control is possible through strong political commitment, HPV vaccination, screening, early detection and timely treatment.
India’s leadership is helping accelerate progress towards the goals of WHO’s Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative and bringing us closer to a future where no woman dies from this preventable disease.”
Quoting Jagat Prakash Nadda:
“India has crossed a significant milestone of 80 lakh+ HPV vaccine doses administered under the National HPV Vaccination Campaign.
I congratulate our dedicated health workers, frontline teams, healthcare professionals, States and UTs, and all those working tirelessly to make this campaign a success.
Launched by PM Shri Narendra Modi ji in February 2026, the campaign provides free, voluntary, single-dose HPV vaccination to 14-year-old girls, with parental consent.
This achievement strengthens our resolve to advance preventive healthcare and protect future generations from cervical cancer. Let us ensure that no eligible girl is left behind.”
