Tatul Saghatelyan: Serving as an IAEA Expert at the Patient Safety in Cancer Imaging Workshop

Tatul Saghatelyan, Head of Radiation Oncology Department at National Center of Oncology of Armenia, shared a post on Facebook:

“Honoured to have served as the lead IAEA expert at the Regional Workshop on Patient Safety in Cancer Imaging: From Early Detection to Follow-Up, held in Astana, Kazakhstan, in conjunction with the 12th Eurasian Radiological Congress.

The workshop brought together radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists and other professionals from across the region to discuss how to make cancer imaging safer, better justified, and more effective throughout the entire cancer care pathway – from screening and diagnosis to treatment planning, IGRT and long-term follow-up.

I was pleased to contribute lectures and expert discussions on evidence-based follow-up of cancer patients, safe and justified use of imaging, and patient safety in image-guided radiotherapy.

Many thanks to the IAEA, the local organizers, colleagues from Kazakhstan, and all regional participants for the active exchange, professional dialogue and shared commitment to improving patient safety in oncology.”
