“New Lung Cancer Screening Program in Tbilisi.
Thanks to all my team and medical specialists who have worked tirelessly together for months to create a lung cancer screening program.
Starting May 1st, Tbilisi City Hall is launching a fully funded lung cancer screening program. This initiative is the result of months of collaboration between municipal teams and leading medical specialists to combat the world’s leading cause of oncological mortality.
Why Early Detection Matters
Detecting lung cancer in its early stages is the most effective way to save lives:
Survival Rates: Early detection can increase survival rates by up to 70%
Treatment Efficiency:
Early diagnosis reduces the duration, intensity, and financial burden of medical interventions.
Modern Technology:
The program utilizes Low-Dose Computed Tomography (LDCT), the gold standard for safe and effective screening
Who is Eligible?
Free screening is available to Tbilisi residents who meet the following criteria:
Age: 45 to 75 years old.
Status: Active tobacco users or individuals who have quit smoking within the last 15 years.
How to Access the Program
You can find the list of participating medical institutions and further details via the official Tbilisi City Hall documentation:
