“This new work from V Foundation grantee Dr. David Schlaepfer at UC San Diego shows how blocking a tumor signal called FAK may help reawaken the immune system in ovarian cancer.
By reshaping the tumor environment and recruiting immune cells back into the fight, this research suggests a promising strategy to make immunotherapy more effective for patients with this difficult disease.”
