Sunil Verma, SVP, Global Head, Oncology Franchise at AstraZeneca, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Here is my journey, and in many ways it feels like it is just starting…
As a member of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, I recently had an opportunity to sit down for a 1:1 discussion with their CEO, Sean Khozin. In our wide-ranging and engaging conversation that beautifully captures from early childhood to the vision for the future. I remain grounded by the values that shaped my upbringing and focused on marching together to advance cancer care and research to help with people with cancer globally.
Here are a few highlights I shared:
- Despite advances in science, cancer remains a significant public health burden and a high unmet need
- Early detection and early diagnosis have the potential to improve outcomes and we have to look at how we evolve the health care model to meet the needs of patients of today and tomorrow
- We have to set the roadmap from precision care to truly personalized care, and the era of AI can help to accelerate this at pace
No one organization or entity can tackle these alone. Collaboration across the ecosystem is the key to unlocking the next phase of innovation in cancer.
I am truly grateful to be part of the Cancer community and contributing to our shared mission.”
