Sumanta Pal: eGFR Overestimates Renal Function in Kidney Cancer Patients

Sumanta Pal, Professor and Vice Chair of Academic Affairs at City of Hope, shared a post on X about a paper by Viraj Master et al. published in JCO Oncology Practice:

“Important study from Reza Lahiji and Viraj Master in JCO Oncology Practice.

In 72 patients with kidney cancer, eGFR consistently overestimated renal function compared to measured GFR.

Important consideration as we consider patients for both clinical trials and SOC procedures (e.g., nephrectomy, systemictherapy). Really nice work!
