Sultan Stambekov: Special Recognition to Our First Lady for her Immense Contribution to Advancing Care for Children with Cancer

Sultan Stambekov, Head of pediatric oncology department at National Center of Childhood and Maternity, shared a post on Facebook:

“Today a working meeting was held in the new building of the Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic “White House” where I was present with our director Shairbek Alibayevich Sulaimanov on the development of pediatric oncology.

Under the leadership of the Presidential Office, together with colleagues from the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and the World Health Organization, we discussed the launch of a very promising project that will significantly improve our children’s access to timely and high-quality treatment. It’s not about precise measures; it’s about systematic solutions, from patient routing and early diagnosis to medication care and sustainable funding.

I want to specially acknowledge the support of our First Lady, who oversees the direction of children’s health. Her contribution to the development of helping children with cancer diseases is enormous. A lot of what gets done goes behind the scenes, but it’s quiet, consistent work that creates real change and gives families hope.

On our part, our team continues to move on the path of systemic transformation. Reform is always a challenging process that requires coordinated actions, professional expertise and political will. Today we see that all these components form a single vector.

The work continues in progress. For the sake of the main thing – the life and future of our children.”
