Steve Mao: Journal Impact Factor for Cancer Cell by Cell Press is 56.1

Steve Mao, Director, Editorial and Strategic Initiatives, China and Asia-Pacific at Cell Press, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“A personal note, shared in my own capacity and not on behalf of Cell Press or Elsevier.

I’m thrilled to share that the newly released Journal Impact Factor for Cancer Cell by Cell Press is 56.1, which is a milestone that fills me with enormous pride and gratitude.

But behind any number is something far more meaningful: the work, the trust, and the community that make it possible. A metric like this is really a reflection of everything our authors, reviewers, and readers pour into the science we’re privileged to publish.

At Cancer Cell, our mission rests on three pillars that guide everything we do:

Bridging discovery and the clinic. We are committed to closing the gap between foundational cancer science and clinical oncology, facilitating both translation and reverse translation, so that insights move in both directions and patients ultimately benefit.

Publishing rigorous, impactful science. Rigor is non-negotiable. By carefully selecting the right reviewers for every manuscript, we strive to uphold the highest standards and ensure that what we publish genuinely moves the field forward.

Supporting our authors. We believe in partnership. That’s why we discuss revisions on every single paper, working alongside authors to help each study reach its full potential.

Together, these efforts have helped make Cancer Cell a truly global, diverse, and impactful home for both basic and clinical cancer research.

None of this would be possible without our remarkable community including the authors who entrust us with their best work, the reviewers who give their time and expertise so generously, and the readers who keep us inspired.

And to my incredible team at Cell Press: thank you! To my fellow editors Montserrat Rojo de la Vega, Zhaodong Li, Cansu Cirzi Chorus, PhD, and Panagiota Bouti, Ph.D, and our wonderful colleagues Hélène Hodak, Kelly Postema (Montague), and Emily Bartucca. Your dedication, care, and tireless effort are the heart of this journal. This achievement is yours.

Here’s to the science still to come, and to continuing this journey together.”
