Stacey Tinianov: Illuminating the Realities of AYA Cancer in Rural Communities

Stacey Tinianov, Executive Director at Advocates for Collaborative Education, shared a post by Betty Roggenkamp, AYA Program Development Strategist at Teen Cancer America, on LinkedIn:

“A study designed to illuminate the realities of the AYA Cancer experience for those in rural areas. Goal to help design ‘place-based’ support.

More of this please and hope to see results at The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) and beyond!”

Quoting Betty Roggenkamp’s post:

“Throwing some more attention to those in rural areas. From a colleague, Rebecca Hoover, at the University of Montana, a study focusing on those 15 – 39 yo, diagnosed with cancer and live in rural settings.

Stories are powerful tools for clinical and research understanding (meaning they can often be effective getting the reality across) that cancer and its treatment, especially as a young adult, is hard. And for decades.

Please share with any people you know who may qualify or consider signing up yourself if this is you.”
