“What if the next moonshot in cancer is not another discovery, but building the bridges that connect what we discover to what we do?
We have extraordinary knowledge.
Remarkable science and innovation.
New technologies and powerful evidence.
Yet the distance between knowledge and policy, innovation and implementation, health systems and communities, and global evidence and local action can still be enormous.
Perhaps this is the next moonshot:
Building those bridges.
We need scientists and clinicians.
Policymakers and health systems.
Communities and advocates.
And a collective commitment to close the gaps between what we know and what we are able to achieve.
The UICC WCC- World Cancer Congress is a powerful place to build these bridges. It brings together the many parts of the global cancer community.
I am looking forward to being part of this global gathering and contributing to this important conversation.
I am also honoured to be a candidate for the UICC Board.
With your support, I hope to have the opportunity to bring this agenda of bridging knowledge, innovation, policy, systems and communities to the table.
The next moonshot may be the bridge itself.”
