SPCC (Sharing Progress in Cancer Care) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Highlights from yesterday’s Task Force on Oncology Nutrition Integration.
Yesterday, 8 June, SPCC brought together a distinguished panel of international experts for the Oncology Nutrition Integration Task Force. Malnutrition remains a significant challenge across the oncology care continuum, heavily impacting treatment outcomes and patient quality of life.
To bridge the gap between evidence and routine clinical practice, our Faculty engaged in high-level discussions to drive a more coordinated, multidisciplinary approach.
During the meeting, the experts focused on clarifying multidisciplinary team roles for oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers, whilst also developing new frameworks to better integrate patient bodies.
The discussions also provided crucial guidance on the transition from hospital to home care and explored the potential of digital apps for personalised nutrition tracking.
The insights and recommendations emerging from yesterday’s closed meeting will now be consolidated into a comprehensive manuscript to support healthcare professionals worldwide.
A special thanks to our Moderator, Prof. Matti Aapro, our Chair, Prof. Eric Van Cutsem, and all the incredible experts who contributed to this vital initiative.
This educational project is developed in collaboration with Fresenius Kabi.”
