Sophie Pilleron, FNR ATTRACT Fellow, Group leader Luxembourg Institute of Health, shared on LinkedIn:
“For those who know me professionally, you know how passionate I am about improving cancer outcomes in older adults. Achieving this requires their proper representation in cancer research, which unfortunately remains far from the reality today.
I am super happy that Nature Portfolio Nature Review Clinical Oncology has accepted for publication the manifesto I co-wrote with Enrique Soto Perez de Celis and Nicolò Matteo Luca Battisti, calling for the better inclusion of older adults in research across the entire cancer care continuum, from primary prevention to end-of-life care.
As we write.
‘Widening access to innovation for older patients with cancer is an ethical imperative: it is not simply the right thing to do for individual patients and their caregivers but is a matter of the common good.”
