Solomon Moshkevich: Natera Unveils an AI-Assisted Model to Transform Cancer Patient Data at ASCO GI 2026

Solomon Moshkevich, President, Clinical Diagnostics at Natera, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Unveiled our AI project today at the ASCO GI conference, with my lead coauthor the esteemed Dr. Axel Grothey of the West Cancer Center & Research Institute.

Natera has developed an AI-assisted model that can abstract clinical and treatment data from unstructured patient records in PDF format, and deliver patient journey visualizations enriched with Signatera MRD status, genomic status, treatment and radiographic history, and more. This cutting-edge software promises to improve clinical practice, accelerate clinical research, and ultimately empower patients to better understand and manage their own disease.

Imagine as a patient or physician, reading pages of clinical records to remember what happened (and when) in a complex battle with cancer? With Natera’s new AI toolkit, you can see it all at once, on a timeline with full color context and publication-grade quality, to help make sense of what happened before and what might happen next. And researchers can access the de-identified data behind the visuals, to filter and identify cohorts of interest and new predictive patterns.

This AI model will soon be deployed to enrich Natera’s database of over 300,000 cancer patients, including real-time data abstraction for newly tested patients.”

Alyssa Antonopoulos, Senior Director of Data and Informatics (RWD) at Natera, shared this post, adding:

“I’m beyond proud to have partnered with Natera’s team of translational researchers, AI/ML scientists, software engineers, medical directors, and clinician abstractors who built these data extraction, validation, and patient journey visualization tools with the contribution of our expert collaborators.”
